MOM!!!! Sounds like everybody is doing good, that makes me happy to hear. The weather isn't bad. It was super cold last week! but its a little warmer these last couple of days. Sometimes the sun will come out haha. But it will still rain a little everyday for the most part. I go my package and I just want to say thank you so much!

Since last week we have found 10 more new investigators!! it has been a miracle!! Then again they are not all solid, but some are. We haven't had a second lesson with too many of them. But we have a lot of lessons lined up this week, so i will tell you more about them next Monday when i learn more about them (:

My apartment is good. We have two bathrooms so that is nice. I have pics of our place so I'll send them. But I'm sorry I don't have many pics at all.... I just don't even think about it while we are out, so sorry.

So yesterday was AWESOME!! We had a really busy day! A lot of meetings with ward council and bishop. So we were book until after dinner. Dinner ended at 6 and we had a meeting at 7 with bishop. So we had a little less than an hour that we didn't have somebody penciled in for. We decided to stop by Rose and see her. She is one of our new investigators, but we couldn't get in without another adult male, so we waited until a member could come, we knocked on her door and her kid answered and said she wasn't feeling well, come back Tuesday so i guess we will hopefully see her Tuesday. Anyways at that point it was 6:38 so we couldn't decide to go to bishops early or what. Beacause we didn't want to get into a lesson and be late for bishop. We decided together that we will knock on one door. We drove the street until a house caught our eyes. Pretty much at the same time Elder cox and I pointed to the one on the end and said that one, we looked at each other with wide eyes in amazement and went there. We knocked nobody answered .... knocked again nobody answered.... as we were about to leave we hear "Hello?!" we looked up and this woman was looking out the window talking to us, she said, "who is it?" I said, "The Missionaries!" she said "okay ill be right there." Long story short, we gave her a brief lesson of the restoration, and invited her to begin reading the Book of Mormon, and pray about it. She accepted, and we are meeting with her again tomorrow! It was truly a miracle. We literally only had time to knock on ONE door yesterday, and it just so happened to be Danna, and a new investigator. I felt the spirit overwhelm me with joy afterwards. And I know the spirit lead us to her. The Gospel is TRUE!!

What is up?!

I arrived in WA on Tuesday, and that's the last time I have seen the sun. It has rained.... A LOT, and it even snowed on Friday and Sunday

My Companion is Elder Cox, he is from AZ. And he is awesome, he has helped me to hit the ground running up here. He has a good outlook on missionary work and great attitude. All I can say is we get to work. I am serving in the Hylebos Ward, in the Federal Way Zone. There is a lot of houses, and lot trees.. oh and a lot of rain.

So far Federal Way, Washington has treated me well. The members up here take care of us well, and the work is good. In the last four days Elder Cox and I have found 7 new investigators, and apparently that's unheard of for the Hylebos area, but it was awesome. All we did was just work hard with a good attitude and the Lord did the rest.

The power of prayer is real! I have so many prayers answered this last week, my faith and testimony in the Gospel has grown so much. Elder Cox said Hylebos has been pretty "dead" the last two months. But like it says in Preach my Gospel nothing happens until you find. You cant teach if you dont have anybody to teach. So we sincerely prayed as a companionship to soften the hearts of the people of Federal Way that they may accept our message about the restored Gospel. And now we have 7 new investigators, its been a real blessing and miracle. Like it says in 3 Nephi 18:20   This is when Jesus came to the people of Nephi and is teaching them and he said, "And whatever ye shall ask the Father in my name, which is right believing that ye shall receive, behold it shall be given unto you"  The power of prayer is real, and God answers prayers.

I love you all!!!

Love, Elder Richards

I miss Utah

Fresh haircut before Washington

These elders were in my zone at the MTC and they are headed to the Logan, UT mission.  So keep an eye out for them.

My companion's attitude on everything has helped me so much, and ever since I have lost myself in the work again. He is obedient and works hard, so my prayers were answered. Its gonna be good getting off to a good start. Hes only been out 12 weeks so he just barely got done being trained Monday haha and now he is training but its all good.  The ward is awesome, and the members take care of us. I haven't had to make my own dinner yet!
My area I'm in is just a GIANT suburb it feels like. A lot of apartments and sub divisions. They call it the suburb of Seattle. It's kind of ghetto on one side, and really nice big homes on the other side. It snowed Friday and Sunday, but it didn't stick. My comp. from AZ was freaking out because he saw snow haha.

It's awesome to see how obedience and hard work with a good attitude pays off. I just pray the spirit works on them so they can have happiness in their lives. I don't want to sound corny, but I already love them!! The Gospel is awesome!

Just to let you know my Branch Pres. has requested me to email today, so I’m not breaking any rules (:

Haha that video is awesome. And the rest of your email made me chuckle. How’s Easton doing?

Grandma emailed and told me how funny she thought that was. And yeah I read her my essay on why cheerleading is not a sport. She couldn’t believe that I wrote it.

It’s kind of sad leaving some friendships behind here at the MTC. But I am soooo excited and ready to leave and get to Federal Way. I’m just ready to start working instead of sitting in a classroom. The MTC had been great, and I have learned lots. Now I’m ready to apply what I have learned and use it I’m the field.

And just remember to be expecting a call tomorrow sometime before 11:20.  Love you and can’t wait to hear from you.

From Sister Rasmussen

We were so happy to welcome Elder Richards to Washington yesterday.  We were thrilled to receive this wonderful group of sixteen missionaries!  We had a great day with lunch, interviews and  some training. They bring the fire of the MTC with them and we all catch it.  We look forward to watching your missionary stretch and grow and succeed!   Bishop Waddell told us in mission president seminar that we have that birds eye view that every parent wish they could have to watch the growth of their missionary.  We are truly blessed to be here and serve with these dedicated elders and sisters.   We are looking forward to getting to know him better as he serves the Lord in this beautiful part of the vineyard.

He has been assigned to work with Elder Cox  in the Hylebos Ward in Federal Way.    You will hear from him on Monday which is our P-day.  Also, we have a mission blog at WFWMissionldscurrent.blogspot.com that will keep you a little more connected to what is happening here.

The church is strong in this area and we love seeing the hand of the Lord in His work here.  Your family will be blessed as he teaches the Doctrine of Christ and brings salvation to those who live here.   We know he will be a great asset to our mission.

I just wanted to make your day,
Sister Rasmussen

You've got to love when your best friend finds your son at the airport as they are flying home from Disneyland.  Tender mercy for this mom :)
