On Friday my bag was packed and I was sitting on a couch in the front office anxiously awaiting for my ride. Then I was rudely told that I could not leave. The secretary at the front desk said I was not allowed to get into the car, as I stood there looking confused I didn't know what to say. She walked me down the hall and right into Pres. Gilbert's (1st counselor in the MTC Presidency) office. Where he, again reiterated what the secretary told me, that I was not allowed to leave. I didn't know what to do, I was ready to leave the MTC, and no I'm told that I cant.... The secretary called my zone leaders, and they had to come and escort me back to my dorm. It looks like my companion had to go to his Dr. appt. by himself. I was told by our branch Pres. that I would have to go with him so he could have a companion. But because of insurance reason i couldn't ride in the car with my comp. and his dad to his doctor appt. But he returned two short hours later and we are all good (;
This past week in the MTC has been glorious. My companion and I are very similair, and get along very well. And that results to us teaching well. My comp and I have been focusing on being in tuned with the spirit during our lessons, and letting the spirit guide. And to do so we have to remain obedient, and prepare ourselves. We have to do our part. Like D&C 84:85 says,"Neither take ye thought beforehand what ye shall say; but treasure up in your minds continually the words of life, and it shall be given you in the very hour that portion that shall be meted unto every man." We prepare ourselves to the best of our ability but let the spirit guide during our lessons, and I can't put into words what i have experienced doing so. Our last lesson we taught a guy named Curtis, and I said stuff to him that I didn't even know that I knew. It definitely wasn't just me talking. Like it says in Preach My Gospel ,"The Spirit is the most important single element in this work. With the Spirit magnifying your call, you can do miracles for the Lord in the mission field. Without the spirit, you will never succeed regardless of your talent and ability." So we have really been focusing on being in tuned with the spirit at ALL times. And I promise that if you can stay in tuned with the spirit and act on the promptings you receive you will witness miracles occur in your life. Big or small. But you have to do your part!
I know this is the Lords work, and I am loving what I am doing. I love the MTC but I am ready be in Federal Way. And like it says in Mosiah 2:21 "... I say, if ye should serve him with all your whole souls yet ye would be unprofitable servants." This is truly the Lords work, and none of this could happen without him. I have learned and have memorized things that i couldnt have on my own. This is Lords work, and I love it! I love and miss you all!
Love, Elder Richards
So I never want to make my group emails super long. But I forgot to mention that I got the chance to sit in on the new MTC building's dedication. Pres. Eyring did said the dedicatory prayer and it was awesome. Only 300 people got to listen to his prayer live. And it was neat experience.
Elder Richards heads out to Federal Way Washington on October 31.
Mate from Australia and is his room is right next to mine. And whenever he sees me (which is like 100x a day he yells "ELDEEERRRR RICHARDS!" An Australian accent, and it hilarious.
This is the pic Elder Coon (Holden's companion) sent in his group message to show who his companion was. HAHA
